Welcome to the next instalment of the photographic diary I am sharing featuring some shots I captured across the Scottish Highlands last summer.
This instalment will see us stop at a unique wee place, most people will almost certainly miss. Touring Scotland in a large camper van makes planning ahead essential – space is needed for such a vehicle and we needed lots. So, we choose this place and I must say it was one of the most tranquil and picturesque spots anywhere in the Highlands!
The site is based on the site of a former Highland Railway Station (now re-purposed as a campsite) and with much of the old station and building remaining, it’s a wee time warp. Great preservation and restoration work has been done and it’s coming together nicely. The owners can be proud and it gave me a chance to capture the rustic scenes too – with a pitch on the very banks of Loch Creran….awesome!
