This privacy policy explains the types of personal data we (Myers Photography & Design Ltd trading as ‘Colin Myers Photography’), may collect about you whilst you interact with us. We collect and process data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 and the Data Protection Act 2018. We do not disclose data to any third parties unless it is necessary for the fulfilment of a service/to supply you with goods, you have specifically given consent for a particular service, or we have a legitimate interest in disclosing data. Instances in which we do disclose data to third parties are outlined below.

 

1. Site Activity Data

Colin Myers Photography considers Internet user privacy and data protection to be of paramount importance.

The Colin Myers Photography website complies with the Data Protection Act 1998 in relation to all processing of personal data supplied to us by users and other personal data in our possession for any reason. It is the policy of Colin Myers Photography to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of any personal information, such as your name, address or email address that you provide to us. Because your privacy is important to us, we maintain this website privacy policy to protect your personal information. By using this site, you consent to the terms of this website privacy policy. We do not collect, use or disclose your personal information for any purpose other than those identified below, except with your consent or as required by law.

Each time you visit our website www.colinmyers.com the web server collects and logs certain information. We keep these access logs for a reasonable period of time. These logs include, but are not restricted to: your computer’s TCP/IP address, your username (if applicable), date, time and files accessed. These logs also contain information about referrer information if you clicked on an external link in order to access a webpage. We use these logs solely for performance, site administration and security reviews. We do not sell or share this information with any third party.

 

2. Personal Information

We collect only personal information about you, such as your name, address, email address, or telephone number that you voluntarily provide to us. For example, we may receive personal information about you when you send us an email through our website or sign up for any mailing list (where applicable). 

We do not sell any personal information we receive through our website to any third party, nor will we add such information to any bulk email list we may prepare.

We do not share or sell information stored in any cookies and we do not physically look at any data within any cookies stored.

4. ‘Contact Us’ Form & All Newsletters

When using our Contact Us Form, we collect the following information which is directly provided by the user; their name, email address and the message itself. The information provided is only used to reply or for direct contact with the user. This information is never used by third-party services or sold.

When using any of our Newsletters (General, Mugs, Christmas Cards, Calendars, Jigsaws) Forms, we collect the following information which is directly provided by the user; their name, their email address and optionally, their country.  The information provided is only used for direct contact with the user, advising when our products are open for image votes and to advise when they are ready to purchase.  This information is never used by third-party services or sold.  In addition, if you join any of these newsletters, you will not be joining all the newsletters unless you expressly sign up to each.  Each Newsletter is exclusively focussed on it’s own purpose and audience.

This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.

 

5. How Long Is Your Data Retained?

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except user name which cannot be changed). Website administrators can also see and edit that information but cannot see any passwords.  No credit/debit card information is ever stored on our website and is all processed by our external third-party payment service providers (Stripe and PayPal).

 

6. What Rights You Have Over Your Data?

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

 

7. Our Online Store

During your visit to our online store, the following information captured:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
  • Your Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order.

We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Send you information about your account and order
  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud (via Stripe or PayPal – we do not store ANY credit/debit card details on our website, ever)
  • Set up your account for our store
  • Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
  • Improve our store offerings

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 5 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

 

8. Who On Our Team Has Access?

The website owners have access to the information you provide us and can access:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
  • Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.

 

9. What We Share With Others?

We only share information with third parties where it is necessary for any goods or services you have ordered.  This includes:

Payments – PayPal

We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.  Your credit or debit card data is not stored or shared with us – this is all handled by PayPal.

Payments – Stripe

We accept payments through Stripe. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Stripe, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.  Your credit or debit card data is not stored or shared with us – this is all handled by Stripe.

Goods – Printers

Where we have matt photographic prints or canvases issued directly from the printers to your delivery address, we need to share your name and delivery address with the printers so they can ship the goods to you.  This is the only reason and the only time we share your name and address details with the printers.

 

10. Online Purchases

Each online purchase processed on this website, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details (via Stripe or PayPal) and optional account information like username and password.  This is so we can take payment and send you goods.

 

11. Policy Revisions

Any changes to this website privacy policy will be promptly communicated on this website. Any such change will be prospective only and will not affect how we handle personal information submitted to us before the change occurs.
